Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known her real name as Winona Ryder is a native of Winona Minnesota. Her name was chosen by her parents in honor of the town in which she was raised. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father is from an Jewish background. There are two younger half siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder made the move along with her family in Mendocino County California at the age of seven. They didn't have electricity. Ryder was a voracious books reader since there was no television. Ryder started taking classes in acting in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 at the age of twelve years old. When she was in 1986, she had her first film role the movie Lucas aged just fifteen years old. Ryder suffered bullying in high school. Her acting career, she hoped she would be able to assist her. But, unfortunately, that didn't occur. Still she continued pursuing her goals. Her breakthrough occurred in the year 1988, when Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder performed in a number of roles that were successful for many films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her role for her performance in The Age of Innocence (1993).
